Kovalov
Starting a business
Former pilot and flight instructor Mykola Kovalov started his own business sewing uniforms for students and teachers at a flight academy. Over time, the business grew, and its products became popular among airlines, airports, and later border guards, businesses, and the police.
He has been involved in hiking, mountaineering, cycling, rafting, and skiing for many years. His hobby prompted him to test and search for the best equipment, but having ideas and wishes that he could not find among different brands, he decided to create his own tourist gear. At the same time, most tourists in Ukraine adhered to traditional ideas about equipment in tourism as dogma, and he tried to prove by his own example how equipment could be improved.

I want the equipment that is missing
ROCK FRONT began with a very practical need: when hiking, we wanted lighter, smarter, and well-designed equipment—without unnecessary compromises. This is how the brand’s philosophy came about: smart ultralight and functionality that you can feel in real conditions, not just in advertising descriptions.

Garage solutions and real-world tests
The first items were created as prototypes: seams, fabrics, accessories, compromises in weight and strength — everything was tested not “on paper” but in the field. Early ROCK FRONT was a culture of testing, minor improvements, and “refining until it’s perfect.”

Do as you would for yourself
Many years of experience working with aviation companies and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have ensured the impeccable quality of the products. Mykola Kovalov remains the company’s leader and developer of new products, which he personally tests, refining every detail.
